GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES

Age

  • All dogs attending daycare of boarding at Boops Co. must be at least 4 months of age or older.

    • Puppy Boarding is +$3 per night (under 8 months).​

Spay/Neuter

  • All dogs 12 months of age and older must be spayed or neutered in order to attend daycare. Dogs boarding at our facility who remain intact past 12 months of age will not be permitted in group play.

  • If any intact dog (daycare or boarding) is causing a disruption in group play or otherwise, they will be dismissed until they are spayed/neutered, at which time they may be welcomed back on a trial basis at staff discretion.​

  • Females actively in heat are not permitted until 15 days past the last day of their cycle.

  • A 14 day waiting period is required to attend daycare or board with us after your dog is spayed/neutered.

 

Vaccinations

  • All animals must have up-to-date vaccinations. Contact your veterinarian to obtain your pet's most current records and upload them to their pet profile. Additional information regarding vaccines can be found here.

  • Dogs:

    • DHLPP or DAPP (Distemper and Parvo)​

    • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

    • Rabies

    • Canine Influenza is strongly encouraged

    • Flea & Tick Preventative

  • Cats:

    • FVRCP​

    • Rabies

  • A 7 day waiting period is required to attend daycare or board with us after your dog receives the Bordetella vaccine for the first time. If your dog has previously received the vaccine and is due for a booster/renewal, no waiting period will be requires so long as the vaccine is administered within 10 days after the expiration date. 

  • Vaccines must be administered by a licensed veterinarian.​

  • Self administered vaccines are not permitted.

  • Vaccinations are not a guarantee against contracting an illness, but can greatly reduce the risk and severity.

Health/Safety

  • All dogs must be flea/tick free, present good hygiene (no foul odors such as urine, etc.), and be in good overall health. Owners will certify their dog(s) are in good health and have not been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days. Upon admission, all dogs must be free from any condition which could potentially jeopardize other pets. Dogs that have been ill with a communicable condition in the last 30 days will require veterinarian certification of health to be admitted or readmitted.​

  • All dogs must be leashed when entering/exiting Boops Co.

  • Please do not walk your dog into the building at the same time as another customer/dog. Some dogs can be leash reactive which can cause issues especially between a new dog and a dog who may feel as if Boops is their territory.

  • Please do not allow your dog to approach another dog while in our lobby.

  • Please do not interact with dogs that are in daycare playrooms.

  • Dogs showing any signs of aggression towards another dog will not be permitted to participate in group play, whether here for daycare or boarding.

  • Dogs who show any signs of aggression towards humans will not be permitted to attend daycare or board with us.

Injury

  • Dogs will be dogs and sometimes, dogs play rough! In the rare event that an injury occurs while attending daycare or boarding with us, Boops Co. and/or their staff is not responsible for any costs incurred as a result of injury.

Emergency Vet Care

  • In the rare event that a medical emergency should arise, we will attempt to contact you immediately for pick-up. If you are unable to be reached, we will attempt to reach your emergency contact.

  • If we cannot reach you or your emergency contact, your pet will be transported by our staff to a nearby licensed emergency veterinarian, and a $75 transportation fee will be charged to the owner.

  • If you are unable to be reached, an emergency vet visit will be at the discretion of Boops Co. and/or their staff.

  • Any and all costs incurred as a result of an emergency vet visit are at the owner's expense.

Abandonment of Animal

  • At the owner's expense, charges will accrue for each additional day a dog is left in our care past the pick-up day/time specified on the reservation, if no prior notice of a reservation modification is given.

  • Charges will include but are not limited to the following:

    • $55 per dog each extra night they spend with us (6pm-7am).​

    • $35 per dog each extra day they spend with us (any time spent between 7am-6pm).
      $10 per meal per dog, 2x a day.

    • Any applicable out of hours pick-up fees per dog.

    • $100 per dog abandonment fee.

  • Owner will be notified via registered mail sent to the address on file asking for dog(s) to be immediately removed from our care. If after 10 days of receipt of notification, the dog has not been claimed/removed from our care, they are deemed abandoned by NYS and will be placed in a shelter. You will be notified by mail of the name and address of the shelter in which your dog is placed.

  • Proper authorities and all local animal shelters will be notified of said abandonment.

  • Abandonment does not relieve owner/abandoner of expenses accrued for services rendered. The credit card used for booking will be charged for all outstanding balanced and a receipt will be mailed to you.

  • Please refer to Section 331 & 332 of the NY Agriculture and Markets Law.

  • Policy is subject to change without notice.

Boops Co. reserves the right to refuse or cancel services at any time for any reason.
